New cultural architecture in Poland
3. Gdansk - Museum of the Second World War
Historical museum with main exhibition occupying an area of over 5,000 square meters. A tower rising 40 metres above the new public square is the main feature of the building, which is located next to a canal in the district Wiadrownia that was destroyed during fighting in 1945. Entry and exhibition spaces are underground.
Opening: 2017
Situation: just outside the city centre, in ample public space.

4. Gdansk - European Solidarity Centre (ECS)
ECS is a cultural institution that honours the civic success of the Solidarity movement. It is a museum that commemorates the revolution of Solidarity and the fall of communism in Europe, and also an educational, research and academic centre, an archive, library and multimedia library and a public meeting space.
Opening: 2014
Situation: on a former shipyard, walking distance from the city centre, spacious lay-out.
